Canterbury – My backyard. I have been an avid amateur photographer for around 30 years, my absolute passion is Landscapes, NZ in particular. Every spare weekend that my wife and I can, we get away somewhere to photograph the landscape, we have covered the South Island from the top of Farewell Spit even as far down as Puysegur Point in the early days. Living in Canterbury, all places in the region are our favourite hunting grounds and we do regular trips away for a day or even overnight. My previous job (on the road everyday) covered an area from the Rakaia River to the Conway River and all high country places in between, so I have a good knowledge of the area and the best times to photograph certain locations. I am an active member and the field trip coordinator for the Kaiapoi Photographic Club.
